Abraham Bosse
About 1604 Tours – Paris 1676

French draughtsman and engraver

Bosse is mainly well-known for his interesting descriptions about the time of Louis XIII of France.

Most of the engravings he made after his own drawings. He was a pupil of Melchior Tavernier (1564–1641) in Paris about 1620.

His first etchings he already made in 1622. About 1630 he met Jacques Callot (c1592 - 1635) and became one of his most important followers and successors.
