Georg Gillis van Haanen

Georg Gillis first was trained by his father Casparis van Haanen (1778-1849), then he was a pupil of the Utrecht landscape painter B. van Straaten (1786-1870). Van Haanen made many study trips. From 1840 he lived in Vienna, between 1850 and 1865 also in Cologne.

He mainly made drawings of interior rooms with lighting effects and moonscapes.
