Dutch painter, draughtsman and etcher

Huygens was a pupil of C. van Cuylenburgh (1758-1827) and of the famous Dutch artist S.A. Krausz (1760-1825) in Den Hague. In 1836 he became an art teacher at the military academy of Breda. As an animal and landscape painter he was mainly influenced by P.G. van Os (1776-1839).
