Jacob Matham

Dutch engraver, draughtsman and publisher

Jacob Matham stepson and pupil of Hendrik Goltzius  (1558-1617) and brother-in-law to engraver Simon van Poelenburgh. He made many engravings after Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), H. Goltzius and Pieter Aertsen (about 1509-1575). His sons Jan, Theodor and Adriaen Matham also became famous painters and engravers.
