Aelbert Meyeringh
1645 – Amsterdam – 1714

Dutch painter, draughtsman and etcher

Aelbert Meyeringh was the son and pupil of the painter and art dealer Frederik Meyeringh (1608-1669).

From 1672 until 1687 he lived and worked together with J. Glauber (1646 – about 1726) in Italy. His series „Ancient Landscapes“ he made after he came back to Amsterdam.

He mainly painted and etched landscapes with mythological figurative staffages, clearly orientated towards N. Poussin (1594-1665) and G. Dughet (1615-1675).
