Jan Verbruggen
1712 Enkhuizen – Woolwich 1781

Jan Verbruggen, trained as an architect and painter, was a pupil of Jan van Call d.J. (1656-1703). From 1746 he was supervisor of the admirality's foundry in Northern Holland. In 1770 he had to leave the country. He moved to England where he became „Master Founder of his Majesty at Woolwich“. In 1772 he participated in a London exhibition with a view of a Dutch town.
